Artist Statement

I create contemporary hand embroidered artwork that explores colour, inspired by places and emotions. My work is carefully crafted sometimes incorporating the environment around me and storytelling,

Most recently I've been inspired by trees and emotional connection and the peace and calmness they provide. Standing tall and arching decades in busy human lives. I look to incorporate natural elements in my work to add texture to detailed embroidery.

Drawing on my background in graphic design, I combine traditional embroidery techniques with a strong visual approach to create pieces that are both expressive and thoughtfully crafted.​

I also particular interest in celebrating women's skills and experiences through stitch. the often-overlooked stories of women's lives and work. This is reflected in pieces such as Cowgirl appliqué, which explores themes of identity, resilience and overlooked labour.
