I am inspired by nature, place, colour and memory, using stitch as a means of expressing ideas, emotions and experiences. My work seeks to create pieces that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
My primary practice is contemporary hand embroidery, combining traditional techniques with a fresh, expressive approach. My background in graphic design informs my work, with a strong emphasis on colour, composition and visual storytelling. I enjoy exploring the interplay of materials, incorporating natural elements, fibres and found objects to introduce texture, depth and a closer connection to the natural world.
Painting and drawing form an important part of my wider creative practice, offering a more spontaneous and intuitive way to explore colour, mark-making and movement. Although each discipline has its own distinct visual language, both share the same underlying inspirations: nature, place, emotion and the stories and memories held within them.
