'Lemon Meringue, you Mum'

On open weave canvas with Appletons wool

My Mum. She was always baking or teaching me how to bake. Sewing or teaching me how to sew and enjoy being creative at home. When I see a lemon meringue pie, I always think of Mum.

I made various lemon meringue pies over the summer and photographed various versions.

I wanted a neutral yet fresh complimentary background, so after sampling I decided a soft blue would balance the composition and lift the pie on the white plate.
