Inspiration
My inspiration came from walks to the local supermarket along McLeod Creek trail in Park City, Utah, it is stunning. Mountain views, aspen trees bathed in sunshine makes me feel very happy.
Aspen trunks have destinctive markings which appear like ‘eyes’ looking back at you. I wanted to suggest this subtly in my work. Their leaves change colour, waft and rustle in the breeze. Whilst I did not want to have yellow in my work (otherwise it would start to look like a ‘rainbow’ piece!), I was able to find a green varigated silk ribbon from Stef Francis. By stitching in detatched chain stitch over the top I was able to create a pleasing effect.
