'Back yard family'

On Edinburgh (36 count) linen, with stranded DMC cotton, polyester cotton and silk threads.
In the summer the moose come down from the mountains nearby and settle in the neighbourhood in Park City, UT.
We have been privileged to have a family stay in 'our backyard' for the last few years, usually a mother with calf or two and sometimes a young adolescent male with the start of a rack. They are magnificent animals. I've been lucky enough to capture some candid photos of them over the years.
I wanted to create a pleasing composition where I could blend the blackwork patterns creating the tones appearing across the mooses' back and suggestion of the foliage behind them.
