Inspiration

In the summer the moose come down from the mountains nearby and settle in the neighbourhood.

 

We have been privileged to have a family stay in 'our backyard' for the last few years, usually a mother with calf or two and sometimes a young adolescent male with the start of a rack. They are magnificent animals. I've been lucky enough to capture some candid photos of them over the years.

I wanted to create a pleasing composition where I could blend the blackwork patterns creating the tones appearing across the mooses' back and suggestion of the foliage behind them.
