Katie graduated from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth with an honours degree in Graphic Design and went on to enjoy a successful and fulfilling 25-year career as a brand designer.

In 2024, she embarked on a significant career change, beginning an intensive full-time, three-year Professional Embroidery Tutor Programme at the Royal School of Needlework. The programme focuses on traditional hand embroidery techniques, teaching methodologies, and the social and historical contexts of embroidery.

Katie is recognised for her creativity and meticulous attention to detail. Her work is driven by colour and emotion, drawing on her background in art and design to bring her embroideries vividly to life. She is particularly interested in exploring the roles of women and their often unrecognised skills, themes that are reflected in works such as Cowgirl appliqué.
